We were looking for a Wheaten puppy since I had previous experience with a Wheaten Terrier. My wife convinced me to look at a Wheaten rescue and we are both glad she did.
We adopted Guinness in late Dec. 2008. He was a 6 month old puppy who was rescued from a Nebraska puppy mill. He had intestinal issues from being stuck in unsanitary conditions and was a little malnourished. WIN fostered him over 3 weeks due to the inclement weather in Nebraska before he could be shipped to Atlanta for us.
I’m happy to report he is now a healthy 1 1/2 year old who is very much loved by us and others. He loves playing with our neighbors golden retriever mix and never misses a meal! He is wonderful around our kids and enjoys play and quiet time. We can’t thank WIN enough for all the hard work they do – The rescuing, vet care, fostering, following up with their clients, etc. We would highly recommend WIN to anyone who is interested in a Wheaten.
